Age Of Ultron was a very good sequel but this is definitely better and 3 years later holds up remarkably well. Still extremely entertaining and high with the rewatchability. For me only The Winter Soldier is better.

I agree with Cyborg, the first Avengers has not faded on me yet after many many re-watching's.
Looking forward to AOU coming to Itunes so I can have a 4 hour marathon.

          Well, that's because TDK
          IS
better than TDKR, and neither is holding up as well as the first Avengers is.

Dark Knight is holding up well. TDKR isn't. That is why Avengers and TDK are considered the top of the genre.

TDK is quite good. Top 15 material for sure but not in the same league as the Marvel greats.

                      Huh.
Many could debate the fact that TDK may be as good if not better than the MCU's best.

I think, The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises (The Dark Knight especially) both are a superior movies and comic book movies than any MCU movie so far, especially when it comes to comic book accuracy. Nolan understood how it's important to respect the mythology from the source material, but Marvel always changes important aspects from the comics for their own sake. The Dark Knight isn't just an amazing comic book movie. It's an amazing movie in general. The Avengers Good comic book movie, but not a great movie. Lacks substance, contains of average acting, has no ambiguity to the story and the characters. It's a popcorn flick (which isn't a bad thing). The Dark Knight, of course, is more than just an entertaining movie.

Well it's kind of obvious that the other post was saying how it's weird to say something like that since it's not like the film was made 20 years ago. Three years is NOT a long time at all, and not a whole lot has changed. So really to say this movie holds up well from a VERY short time ago, is kind of silly.

I was just about to say the same thing. You don't say "still holds up" after only a few years.
There should be at least a decade of time passing before that can be used.

It can be used one month out if the person saying it has seen it multiple times. The mark of a great film is holding up and being entertaining even if you know what is goingto happen. This film and its sequel does that.

Saw Avengers again yesterday on TV and it's amazing how well it holds up and always will. It's such a perfect movie superhero or otherwise.

Holding up 3 years later is not a big deal. The Empire Strikes Back on the other hand holds up great 35 years later.
