There's nothing in Gravity besides those visuals, is the point. Was there any character that you will remember..lets say 10 years from now? no. No good characters, no story, no reason care about any of the characters. Just Sandra Bullock screaming for 90 min with some cool cgi. That's Gravity. Plus there's nothing you'll get from a rewatch, it only gets more and more stale.
I'm entirely sure that you're entirely sure what I'm implying.

eh, i disagree. there's some big thematic of rebirth, grief, and getting over a big fall in the movie. there's a lot of symbolic imagery in it (bullock's character staying in fetal position, to represent how she's going to come out of that experience as a new person). even the tag of the movie 'don't let go' refers to the grieving process.

                      there's a lot of
                      symbolic imagery
in it (bullock's character staying in fetal position, to represent how she's going to come out of that experience as a new person).
Because on the nose, corny material = "symbolic imagery."

Well actually, I liked Bullock's character and performance. The backstory about her daughter was sad and made me care about her, and I really found myself rooting for her survival (even though that was inevitable).
So yeah, I disagree with you that it's visuals and nothing more.

                            That's appropriate rating for Interstellar.
Gravity is overated, but it's better movie.
