well because it makes no real sense, it did with jon since he was raised among the nobles, gendry literally doesnt know anybody other than arya, he never lived the life nor knows how it works, lessers lords may not mind jon since he was raised a stark, gendry was raised as a peasant

Wrong. His royal decree is accepted thoughout Westeros, and as King in the North, he could make Gendry legit. Stannis (southerner from the Stormlands) was allowed to do so for Jon.
