be fascinated with this movie? Remember their childhood of those candy-colored Mac Computers, Harry Potter book worship, Britney Spears, cell phones that started having cameras and texting, then realize they are relics long since gone by the end of this movie.
All I've seen are reviews of how boring this was. I don't know a single young person that's seen this movie or much less cares to, just folks my age

I was born in '87. I lived my childhood in the 90s, this movie is still boring.

I was born in 1995 and reference this as one of my favorite movies of all time, with those nostalgia tidbits only adding to that sentiment.

This kid was born almost a decade after you. You might have felt more nostalgia had you been born in the mid '90s and lived you're childhood in the '00s. I was born in '94 and the clothing, technology, etc. in the movie very much correlate to my childhood.

Same here. I was born in 1993 and this is one of my all time favorite films. The little details; such as the Apple computers of the early 2000s, Dragon Ball Z posters, playing Halo 2, etc make me feel very nostalgic and bring me back to my childhood. It's so nice to see a film portray growing up in the 2000s.

I was born in 1968 and my son in 1994, so this movie is a dead ringer of nostalgia for both of us!

I was born in '89. This movie made me all nostalgic and sentimental. I really enjoyed it.

This movie is still a hollow waste by a talentless hack who has always gotten by on gimmicks and lies.

Well, with Richard Linklatter movies, if you're not a native of the Austin area and marveling at the filming locations, it's unlikely you'll enjoy his films. I like his movies more than anything because of filming locations

Linklater has built a long successful career outside of the few people who are familiar with Austin.

Same for me, actually. The only thing I enjoyed about the movie was to re-live Austin, where I recognized even the quality of the light as nostalgic for me, crazy as that sounds.
I didn't hate the film but I didn't fall in love, and the only reason I keep my Blu-ray of it (which would have otherwise gone to the charity shop) is so that I can see Austin.

I love the different responses. I was born in '89 and this movie was a huge waste of time. I felt no nostalgia watching it at all.

As someone born in the 90's, I thought the film was ok- but I guess I was never that tuned into pop culture. Didn't have a lot of money, or friends and didn't care about a lot. I liked the music though, and seeing parts of my hometown. 🙂
