Irish Accent isn't hard to hear when u used to it..

Yes but there are about 20 Irish accents on the island of Ireland.
I'm from Ireland myself but I remember meeting a guy at a festival and talking to him for a minute and thinking he was German. It was only after another minute I realised he was from Cork. LOL -

I'm English and my mum was Irish (Mayo), she used to sing a little ditty that started 'Aroo from Cork'? I know it off by heart but don't know the correct way to spell it (if there is one)!
I can't differentiate between the different Irish accents, except the Dublin one but they're all pretty nice to listen to.
The film wasn't bad either. -

I'm good at distinguishing accents and understanding them because of all of the foreign films I watch (USA) but I hate when people treat others like they're idiots because accents are hard for them to understand right away. What are you supposed to do if you almost never hear them?
I live in NC. It's not the most exotic place. There are a lot of Spanish-speaking people here and people of southern Asian decent. I hear their accents constantly. But I can't remember the last person from Europe that I encountered. Maybe a year ago -
