That's one that came to my mind immediately. I like this recurring aspect actually, it's very in character. He's always been able to see through things and tell them as they are, which can have a huge impact on people's lives. Lorelai once again asking her mother for money to expand the inn. The dialogue was almost identical to the scene in the pilot - e.g. "I'll get the cheque book", "so close", and the condition of continued contact.
Lorelai's proposal in both the regular series and 'Fall' received the same response from Luke - "What?"

Reverse theme:
Emily fires a maid every episode and Lorelai works with Sookie and Michele the whole time/Emily keeps a maid the entire time and doesn't even get annoyed at any of the odd stuff while Lorelai fires top name chefs each episode.
