I have this infrared grill but have never tried those plantains before.
edit. Go to 4:15 to see them grilled. The time stamp is not working

Oh, I've heard of that… it sounds similar to Bananas Foster:
Bananas Foster is made by cooking sliced bananas and walnuts in a buttery rum sauce and serving it over vanilla ice cream.
I tried Haagen Dazs Bananas Foster ice cream a few years back… it was fantastic. I don't know if they make that anymore. -

If you mean the Bananas Foster, yes and no… you get some banana flavor of course, but lots of other flavors as well. It's mighty tasty. Pretty rich, though… not recommended if you're on a diet or watching your blood sugar levels, lol.

I've only eaten ripe (not fried) plantains… As the /. people above said, they are similar to, but firmer than bananas. I would say the plantain is denser, too. The taste is similar, but for the most part, bananas are much sweeter. That's been my experience. Also, a plantain has to be very ripe before you can even peel it. Bananas, not so much.

I like bananas to get fairly speckled on the peel before I'll even bother with them. They're a lot sweeter if you let them get that way. But most people I know seem to like to eat them when they're still almost green. Well, I guess I'm weird, but I like my 'nanas sweet, lol.
