Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — Movie Awards

    The nominees were:
    Tommy Lee Jones, JFK
    Harvey Keitel, Bugsy
    Ben Kingsley, Bugsy
    Michael Lerner, Barton Fink
    Jack Palance, City Slickers
Seriously, what a crappy set of nominees. Where's Ted Levine in Silence Of The Lambs? John Goodman in Barton Fink? Joe Pesci or Donald Sutherland in JFK?

That's typical of the scumbag pinheads in Hollyweird.
MAGA! FAFO! 😎 Schrodinger's Cat walks into a bar, and doesn't. 😎 Dumbocraps: evil people who celebrate murder. 😠

Abysmal lineup. Michael Lerner is the only deserving performance out of them.

They are all great actors. What actors do you think should have been nominated?

I’m not sure if Hopkins initially being seen as supporting blocked Ted Levine from getting his own momentum
Academy loved seeing Ben Kingsley so opposite Gandhi
In 1991 Keitel was also in Thelma and Louise

Bugsy really wasn’t worth the hype it got at the time. It was a Beatty plug.
Norman! What did you put in my tea?

I didn't think Bugsy was very good.
JFK is one of the best films of the 90s.
But I am glad Palance won it for City Slickers.
