What has become Obsolete

I agree, but sometimes I notice that even when people are with each other they aren't really there. They are checking their phones and should there be a notification, forget the conversation.
You end up being cut off in mid sentence.
You asked a pretty question; I've given you the ugly answer.

I don't know why it's taken the U.S. so long. Nor do I know why we still go back and forth between Standard Time and Daylight Savings Time.
But yeah, I remember there used to be Canadian pennies. I still had some Canadian pennies saved up here at home until just recently. Saved them in my Canadian trip money from my visits to Vancouver over the years. I figured I'd find a way to spend them up in Canada some day. Then I found out Canada discontinued them years ago. I ended up throwing them in the garbage. Is the 1-dollar Loonie coin still used up there? -

You could have still used those pennies. Even though they were discontinued, they are still legal tender (just like our one dollar and two dollar bills). Both the loonie and toonie are still in production. I think I've heard of a $5 coin being produced in the future.

They ring up to the penny and round it up or down manually. That doesn't affect me though as I pay electronically. I really don't miss carrying cash. The only business I frequent that only accepts cash is my barber.

I always pay in cash for my haircuts… Don't necessarily need to, since they do take plastic, but it's just a force of habit for me. I can peel off a tip more easily, too, than having to enter it on the card reader screen.

Knob and tube is another name for knob and spool. It is a definite fire hazard (that's why I am trying to help Donna rewire her hut, although she seems resistant to removing those old wires). It has actually been obsolete for a very long time.
That must have been quite a while ago that you had that done? I cannot imagine an electrician rewiring a house for 2k these days. -

It was about two years ago. He said the whole house wasn't knob and tube, only some sections. I thought 2000 was a helluva lot, but what do I know? We had to do it to get the house insurance down to a reasonable rate.
