Looks great and I agree. I don't like the look of a mounted TV at all.

I prefer them, but it's just much cheaper to have a TV stand/shelf, which is what I have. Also harder to find ones that fit big TVs.

Yes, stands are just as good imo. Especially back when I was renting.

That's the type of setup that we have in our living room.
We also keep another on a low credenza in our office.
The one down in our basement, in my little workout area is also at eye level while I'm on the treadmill.
Placing it so high seems pointless unless the you have no other option.
It's like sitting in the front row in a movie theater.

Lol that reminds me of my old gym… they had TVs practically on ceiling level so after each run, my neck was hurting

                        very interesting! 🤔
                        More people should revolt!
All TVs should be placed at eye level! 👁
                        Especially in the gym!

Too much clutter. A TV should stand alone with a lamp behind it.

A lamp behind it? Or above it?
                            Or one of these?

Probably so that when you barge in unexpectedly in the early am hours, after an all night drunken bingo session, you don’t barf all over their television set. Ya ol’ crone.

we opted not to as well. i think it makes more sense in really large media rooms and our family room is normal size. those home theater set ups usually have really huge sets and i suppose it works because you sit so far back…but i got a 60 inch that suits me fine from my couch🙂👍
