What is it with Brits and instant coffee?

Have you ever tried instant coffee from england? I can't imagine it being half as bad as american chocolate.
Everyone's too tired from working 24/7 to stand there and wait 20 mins for a pot of coffee -

Brewed coffee doesn't take 20 mins lol. It takes like a minute to a couple minutes. I never payed attention to the time it takes, but 20 is way too long.
Some makers even have it where you can set it up to brew at a certain time. My parents used to set it the night before so they woke up to coffee.
I've had the better brands of instant coffee, and they're still not as good as lower end coffee brewed.

A full pot takes a few minutes? It doesn't with mine, but then again it only cost me £30
I was thinking of getting a smart one, but that's just being lazy lol.
They must taste different cuz over here they taste the same, just weaker. Ground coffee has a much stronger taste, and with a nation full of teapots, that's probably why instant is more popular

I like black coffee when it's good coffee, but I think most Americans drink it with cream and sugar, those flavored liquid creamers, or really, most often it's stuff like lattes, macchiatos, etc. from Starbucks or maybe a smaller coffeehouse.
Surprised black coffee isn't the norm in the UK since you guys have Marmite. That's pretty bitter… which I like. Bitter in a good way, like coffee, dark chocolate, or beer

A full pot takes like 7 minutes, tops.
I don't know if you guys get ****ty ground coffee or what. Maybe you're not getting the ratios right. I think most people do 2 tablespoons per 6 ounces of water. If that's too strong or too weak, adjust to taste.
Also, aside from knowing which brands are better tasting, ideally, you go with whole bean and either get yourself a grinder, or if you're in the US, most stores have a machine where you can grind it there.
I juzt don't get how most of y'all don't use coffeemakers, but you use electric kettles instead of boiling water on the stove or in the microwave. Or if you have a coffeemaker, you can just run water through that for your tea.

Instant coffee is pretty much dehydrated regular coffee, and it’s made from cheap beans. It tends to have a rubbery taste that I don’t care for.

That’s why I can never drink instant coffee. It’s for people who are on the go, wanting a beverage that impersonates coffee. Except it’s missing a large portion of the oils that you get with traditional coffee, and the act of spray drying involves high temperatures that burns or messes up whatever oil is left.

I don't know how anyone can drink black coffee.
