Now that it’s pretty clear they exist, what should be done? What are they doing when they fly over us and monitor us in private? Are they performing reconnaissance, probing weaknesses in our defenses and underwear ahead of their main attack? If so, ****?

Yes, some of the aliens were offended by exclusion since their method of propulsion technically wouldn't be considered flight, and thus they had to space-fold their way to a safe space on Neptune to recover from the anxiety and PTSD they suffered from being mislabeled.

Unidentified
Anomalous* Phenomena*
is the modern day term used by the US military and intelligence agencies
What does UAP stand for?
UAP stands for "unidentified anomalous phenomena," a catch-all term to describe objects detected in the air, sea and space that defy easy explanation.
The acronym stood for "unidentified aerial phenomena" until December 2022, when the Pentagon updated its terminology to encompass "submerged and trans-medium objects," as one official put it at the time. NASA and other agencies soon followed suit.
What are UAPs?
By definition, unidentified anomalous phenomena are just that — unidentified. But generally the term refers to objects spotted by pilots or detected by sensors that cannot be immediately explained.
Hundreds of military and commercial pilots have reported UAP encounters. The Pentagon has released several videos in recent years showing some of the objects. Many end up having innocent explanations —they turn out to be weather balloons, drones or small aircraft— while others remain shrouded in mystery.

They "exist" only the in the sense that people see things that they can't identify or explain. That does not qualify as evidence of extraterrestrial craft. The chance that these are spaceships from other civilizations is next to absolute zero.

Newsworthy, barely.
A threat of any kind to anything or anyone, utter nonsense with no basis in any reality.
People have been seeing UFO's for hundreds of years and literally nothing ever comes of it–except some people are very good at exploiting the phenomenon for attention and grift. The UFO enthusiast community is littered with con-men. Things are no different today. -

Anyone making such a ridiculous claim is talking out of their ass for attention. These idiots don't even know what they were seeing and have no evidence-based means of evaluating threats or capabilities.
