Are you aware of a concept called democracy? It's where the public controls their own government by way of popular vote. If the public doesn't like a particular policy then they can vote for politicians who promise to change it. If they don't do that then they support the policy. The reason government run health care never gets overturned once implemented is because people like it.

They have the ultimate power. If the majority of the public wants to get rid of any government program, they can use that power to do so. I agree there is a powerful establishment in Washington that has immense influence, and they were no fans of Trump, but I disagree with you on who it is pulling the strings. It's not democrats, and them wanting to give needy people health care certainly doesn't prove any nefarious conspiracy. It's the people with the money who pull the strings.
