Yeah, because it isn't what you'd expect from a comic book villain, not to mention that it creates a kind of symmetry in that Parker's a nerd outside of his costume as well. I also liked that they gave him some depth with his inner fantasies, showing that he's a bit paranoid and unbalanced. Also not what you'd expect from a comic book movie.
ButI'm more impressed with his performance after the change. It was handled well from a psychological standpoint. At first, he's afraid, doesn't know how to control his newfound power. The cops attack him even though he's not a threatyet. He sees Spider-Man, whom he already has a fantasy relationship with. The whole situation is so precarious, with only one realistic outcome. So his paranoid delusions drive him over the edge and he blames Spider-Man.
As far as Fox's performance, he plays Electro very menacingly. The stare, the voice. Yeah, I dug it. Even when he's helpless, you feel his rising anger:
"You do realize that you locked me up in a prison that runs on electricity. I feel it in the walls"

Interesting list. Thor 2 over the first? Batman Returns as the highest Batman movie? The Amazing Spiderman as the highest Spiderman movie? Very different taste from mine but respect for being original.

- The Avengers
- Spider-man 2
- X2
- Batman Begins
- Guardians of the Galaxy
- Captain America: The Winter Soldier

I Loved both the film and the graphic novel. In fact Watchmen was the first comic book story that I ever read. I have to say that I cannot praise the wholly original graphic novel, Watchmen, enough. It elevated both itself and comic books as a whole to a much higher standing in literature. It is the standard in which all other comics should be compared and judged, a standard in which all other comics should strive for. That being said, while the film was amazing faithful to it's source, taboo of taboos the film did out due the original in at least one aspect.
I am referring to Ozymandias' Plot in which the film makes a substitution of the city destroying unknown alien threat for that of Doctor Manhattan's "Turn".
I found it more elegant and logical as well as more succinct in some way and that it coheres better with the rest of the story.
Watchmen currently ranks #2 on my list, entitled
Super-Hero Movies, the best and the worst
.
I am afraid we differ quite a lot, based on your top 10 selection.

But here is a link to my list of over a 100 comic book movies and super-hero movies, in order from mind blowing all the way to why is this even a movie, oh and spoiler alert Catwoman isn't the worst, hard to believe though it may be.
