To this day, this scene still infuriates me.

First of all, this movie has NOOOOO fcking right to jab at Return. 2nd, the dialogue is so clunkily written just to appeal to the geeky X-Men fans as a safety net by referencing that "other" 3rd X-Men movie. This scene proved to me that X3 would not have been much better had Singer not jumped ship to do Superman Returns.

Jesus. You haters really get far too personal in your hate for this movie. This simple, little 30 second scene "INFURIATED" you? Really? That's just sad.
Get off your soapbox while I play you a tune on the tiniest violin. -

Yes, it infuriates me, because that tells me, that Kinberg and Singer were twiddling their fingers realizing that they didn't bring much new to the table, so they just threw in one of those "wink wink, nudge nudge" moments for the fans

I thought it was pretty funny, it was self jest, they were clearly making fun of their own movie which was the 3rd in a trilogy, tongue-in-cheek style. If that went over people's heads then so be it (
whooosh
), they do not have to appease to the low brow.
Return of the Jedi
is a great film, but it is widely regarded as the "worst" of the trilogy. That's nothing to get upset about, it's simply a matter of the other two movies being even more excellent. However, like
X-Men Apocalypse
I personally like
Return of the Jedi
the best of all 3 movies, but it's close.
