But somehow it is okay for Marvel to beep up and bastardize Civil War, Age of Ultron, Extremis, Planet Hulk/Ragnarok, Demon in a Bottle, etc.

You think Marvel's adaptation of Old Man Logan would be closer to the source? You want a light-hearted romp?

OP is right. This movie comes off as a depressing, over the top attempt at being something it's not. At the end of the day, it's still a comic book film about a guy with adamantium claws. This is not Macbeth. This movie tries to take itself too serious.

Actually, he makes cracks lots of times. And out of all the X-Men he's the one who spends most of his time with kids.

Yes, the MCU fanboys want everything to be the same.
Copies of copies of copies. All generic, dull, not doing anything different. Simple movies for simple minded people.
Plot? Character development? What's that? Why bother making a well written villain that can give depth to the plot when you can just have a generic bad guy that will go full retard in order to be stopped by "Le ebin dance off meme XDDD"

Create a well-written protagonist who doesn't need the villain the steal the movie.

No, I just don't understand why there's this obsession with an R Rating.
Being rated R doesn't automatically make something "good" or "adult".

I liked Predator, even though it admittedly has a somewhat thin plot.
Robocop was actually meant to be a satire, oddly enough.
It's been a while since I saw Die Hard
