The Real Problem is that the story editing is ham-handed and stupid. They need to fire the damned lot of both writers and editors with their hackneyed, agenda-driven crap and hire someone who knows how to write decent stories. Someone with talent, like Bryan Fuller.
This crap with Alex Danvers being gay is a case in point. This isn't a soap opera. You don't just ignore a year of stories to ram it in as a plot point in only four or five episodes. There was zero evidence to suggest this in the first season. And Linda is her nominal sister. She'd be a lot less surprised by the revelation if she actually had a teenhood and early adulthood shared with her to look back on even assuming she was clueless (which kinda fits the Supergirl character they've had developing) and never figured it out on her own.
The problem is NOT that she's gay, or even finding out that she's gay. The problem is it's hackneyed writing. You don't change a major character in a significant manner with no setup, and something like that should take a full YEAR to set it up. You need to introduce backstory that previously was unexpressed and unclear to justify it.
And it's getting quite cliche, now. EVERY TV show needs a token Gay these days.
If they wanted to actually do something surprising, they'd have her explore being gay,
then decide she wasn't,
after all

THAT
would be something different.
There's a lot more the removal of Cat Grant as a significant character. The elevation of Jimmy Olson to a job he can't be prepared for. The Guardian plot. The alien amnesty plot (ballpeen hammer, anyone?). Mon-El (WTF?) and Daxam. The DEO moving from a subterfuge operation to an open organization. All of it aimed at revising the show from what it was on CBS to The CW. The writing team now sucks big time, or at least the story editing does. -

I agree, only because this is Supergirl and not Arrow. He's eating up too much air time with this and it's not relevant to Kara or her plot. And this is HER show.
Like, I want to see Supergirl fight people, not Jimmy. And if Supergirl isn't fighting people, I want to see Alex, Superman or their other alien hero friends. If I wanted to see vigilantes, I'd watch Arrow. -

Well said. Kind of reminds me of Diggle but it doesn't fit on this show. I don't get why they're forcing Jimmy on the viewers. It's obvious he doesn't have much of a role on this show and instead of writing a good story line for him, they take the easy route and make him into a superhero.

Diggle's son didn't get killed. He had a baby daughter who got a sex change. Or the other way around, I forget.
Sisco's brother is the only one who dies directly as a result of FlashPoint.
The funny thing is, there's six different shows right now about time travel.- The Flash
- Legends of Tomorrow
- Timeless
- Travelers
- 12 Monkeys
- Doctor Who
A couple of them have mentioned the Butterfly Effect, but then mostly handwaved the rest off LoT is the worst. Timeless is almost as bad. Travelers and 12 Monkeys are about dystopian futures that don't care about it, as long as they make things better. And Doctor Who doesn't really care about such, either.
So The Flash is the only one that's acking the BE at all well.

Time travel is probably one of the most logistically difficult storytelling devices. Very difficult to get right. I don't disagree with any particular point, but you can add Outlander to your list of time-travel shows.
Outlander seems to conform to a "course-correction" time travel theory - wherein if something is changed. the universe will perform and course-correction to keep events basically on the same track.

Thank you, I thought I was the only one. He is a terrible actor, and even more terrible as a fighter. I don't know why they are forcing him on the show, as it is just throwing the flow off. Its starting to get annoying that Supergirl is getting punked every episode so other "heroes" can come in and help. They have severely downplayed her powers, Superman as well, and its become annoying. It feels like they are just sidekicks now.

Everything is different, not much, but enough to be significant.
Forcing anything to be just like the comics is just plain stupid at this point. Oh and btw, there was a Guardian in the comics, just so you know

Yes I'm aware it's not the comics. But they are butchering the lore.
I'm also aware there's a Guardian in the comics, which is why I referred to it as "representation of The Guardian".

I thought so too. I really like him as Guardian as well. LOL, I'm probably the only one.
