TV writers idea of a strong woman these days seems to be have her complain about the behavior of men, especially not telling her things she doesn't need to know, then have her behave the exact same way and refuse to acknowledge the hypocrisy of it.

Laurel is even worse for me in moments when she is supposed to be : tired or stressed or workingshe always has a pretty dress, perfect hair and she is annoyed and overemotional
Her father: "You look so tired from all this working."
Laurel, who looks like she stepped out of dressing room (which she did :D)
Does she work for the police or the fashion police?
I dont think its nit-picking -

I disagree. Laurel has had the most growth and was one of the most complex characters.
Put yourselves in Laurel's shoes, and you'd understand her anger toward Oliver and Sara. People forget that Oliver literally cheated on Laurel with her own sister, so she got backstabbed by two people she thought she loved, and on top of that, Oliver was the reason Sara was even on that boat.
So not only did Oliver cheat on Laurel with her sister, but he was also the indirect cause of her sister's death (at the time when she believe she had died). And then when it turns out that she is alive, they proceed to flaunt their relationship in Laurel's face and wanna pretend like everything's fine even though Laurel is clearly depressed about Tommy's death.
Laurel had felt like she could move on with Tommy, but then he dies and she believed The Green Arrow (or the Hood at the time) was the cause of it, as he was a rogue vigilante at the time.
For me, so many people criticize female characters for their "bad behavior", but give many male characters a pass (because Oliver's list of sins climb mountaintops). It's like the audience expects female characters to be perfect human beings like Felicity, and the most ironic thing is that when they are like that, they get hate for being a Mary Sue, which Felicity does. They can't win.

Oh I understand the situation she was inthat was a nice start for her character
But honestly even though she learned that Oli obviously suffered after that and paid for his deeds in some wayshe is still attracted to him? I would not want to touch that man at allthats very unlikelythan she sleeps with him after "break-up" with HIS best friend?
Plus she treated her father like sh!t. Then she got HERSELF in trouble by staying in that building even though she should have just left minutes earlierso Tommy had to rescue her and he got himself killed and when she got out she wanted to go back in burning building
So cliche
In season 2 now where I amshe is incapable of having single conversation with Oliver even about Tommy without telling him that her and Oli had a past and blah blah blah
Character f Laurel talks only about feelingsher dialogue has two options:- emotions
- (forced) bad assery that is just not believable to me (the writing and delivery)
And now her hatred for Hood is so over exaggeratedshes not in uniform even
shes always in a party dress with perfect hair setting up traps for Arrow in high hells surrounded by SWAT guysWTF?
Gimme a break
And honey stop crying sexismThe problem here is not that she has a vaginamy problem is bad writing and bad acting
Oli did pretty disgusting thing to her but you understand and feel his redemption
I hate people who cheat no matter what is in between their legs.

No, I don't. I don't at all actually.
I didn't pay it much thought at first, but he didn't really redeem himself. Didn't really do anything to redeem himself to Laurel.

None of that has anything to do with what he did to Laurel.
It's like if a racist man murdered a black man, and then turned around and built a homeless shelter for orphans.
That doesn't change the fact that he did something terrible.
Doing one good doesn't erase the many bads that you did.

It's like if a racist man murdered a black man, and then turned around and built a homeless shelter for orphans.

The analogy might have been to extreme, but my point was is that Oliver never really did anything for Laurel for him to redeem himself, but Laurel is the one who gets shat on because she dared to have emotions.
But whatever then.

I know, right? I mean, I find The Flash to be more overly dramatic and in a more cheesy manner than Arrow. I could take Arrow seriously and really enjoyed Laurel's arc during the second season. There was some good drama on Arrow's third season as well, but honestly? I can't take any more of Barry crying and changing the timeline for selfish reasons and then having to listen to a pep talk in order to decide to do the right thing or fight or whatever. I don't know how one can complain of Arrow being full of drama but enjoying The Flash as it were drama free.

There is a lot of hypocrisy in regards to Laurel as well. Many of the same people who hated her in the beginning now act like she was the greatest character ever. So take everyone's opinion with a grain of salt

well Im curious if I will eventually like her
My brother stopped watching Arrow completely because of the drama. He is more of a Flash fan
I know there will be an evil version of Laurel and that will be "fun" to watch because I really dont think the actress is goodat all
she is like a record on repeat -

Yeah, Laurel is a pain in the ass during season 2, but the writers don't help her character. Actually, the actress is told to look moody because if you've seen her in other stuff, she's a quite different woman. It's too bad they couldn't use her good spirits to good use.
