I don't think we have to worry about Kingdom Come. I read somewhere that Bruce Timm said the only way they would touch it is if they could get the animation to look exactly like Alex Ross's painting of that story and they don't think it can be done.
I'd love to see Kingdom Come but if they made it animated they have to waive that dumb ass 75 minute rule just for this film.
The Dark Knight Returns: In my opinion a movie version of that is every fan boys dream. Whether it's live action or animated. I guess Tim Burton wanted to do a live action version of DKR back in 89 but the studio told him no.
But it Timm and company were to animate this one, once again need to kiss that dumbass 75 minute rule goodbye.
I'd love to see a back to back actually Dark Knight Returns and the Dark Knight Strikes Again. I loved both those stories.
I would love to see the JSA. Preferably a period piece during WWII or predating WWII even. But a golden age story would be nice to see. -

I was thinking Infinite Crisis when I posted
Identity Crisis would be a pretty odd pick to market to a casual audience as a one-off movie.
Still got my fingers crossed, waiting for Judas Contract to get green-lit -

Well Sadly Ricardo Montalban has died, there were other adjustments I wanted ot make anyways so I'll be editing the initial post soon.
But regardless I must express my anger over that development, and I can think of only one adequate way to do so.
KHHHAAAAAAAAANNNNNNNN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I liked the comics but i dont think i want to see it in a movie format. It was cool for a read, but as cool as the atom is, i don't think people would be able to decipher the relationship between Ray and his ex-wife ( not to mention the dibneys, probably a handful of kids will know who he is, besides seeing him in a cameo in batman: B&B).
Rag Morales based them on real people, it'd be a trip if all those actors/actresses really filled in the roles.
And the rape scene i don't think people are quite ok with that. ( not to mention the use of doctor light. we know he went through many variations, but i've asked one of my students, and they have no inkling on who that is ) -

The way is uses lesser known characters was part of the appeal thou, these DTV movies largely are meant more for hard core fans then casual ones, look at New Frontier, my Dad didn't get it at all.

Ah very true indeed. The silverage wasn't for everyone though, as pointed out with your comparison with your father and hardcore/casual fans. I must say though, i thoroughly enjoyed the romp it took us on, especially with how they dealt with batman and the flash.
As much as I like ollie, i just felt that there were too many characters used that hardcore fans ( i don't really use that term often ) knew about, but the rest of the world would be left scratching their heads. New frontier had everyone in there that everyone knew. The flash, Hal Jordan ( best book out on the market now is GL ), supes ( for the 10 - 15 minutes he was there before gettin knocked out ), aquaman ( lol 3 seconds! ) bats, etc.
Martian Manhunter was freaking awesome, i have to admit. And working him into it made it that much more awesome.
But thus far, the Dibneys, Tim Drakes dad, and boomerang would probably leave fans thumping the ground like a pack of angry gorillas, not for any detrimental effects of the plot in its whole, but the lack of understanding on who these people are and why they were so important to the story.
sorry, G. Been busy with school. -

That's kinda what i wanted fomr these animated films, ones that are difficult for the casual fans.
I'm gonna have to completely rework that cast list.
