There are FEW Horror flicks that I love as much as "The Fog". I think it's the atmosphere, cinematography, use of music, and that coastal town setting.

Halloween is a true horror classic, but I love how tense The Thing is, the grittiness of Escape from New York, the lines of Big Trouble in Little Chinaso I can't decide, lol

In the Mouth of Madness. Only Carpenter flick I've ever liked. Okyay, maybe They Live too.

"The Fog." I just love the spooky atmosphere of that movie, the cinematography, the musical score, everything. Just the perfect ghost story.
I love pretty much every Carpenter movie, except for "Dark Star" (just too trippy) and "Ghosts of Mars" (awful story structure and Ice Cube).
My Top 3 favorites are "The Fog," "Halloween," and "Vampires."

Im finding it impossible to choose just one so..
                                  1, The Thing
2, Big Trouble in Little China
                                  3, They Live!
I have a real soft spot for They Live.

Yeah thats also my favourites i could make it a top 5 to add halloween and some other, the thing is awesome! carpenter now lost its touch maybe he should go independent and do whatever he wants in his movies like in the past, maybe he starts doing something right.

I completely agree, he should just do what he wants. He already took a long break from making movies after ghosts of mars. I'm just hoping the ward is good.

Halloween from what I've seen (which is more than half his films). It's very flawed, no doubt, but it holds a special place in my heart as it was one of the first horror films I ever saw, and I loved it as a young teen.
