Here's why I won't join in on the Feldman bashing

I also agree. Thank you for this statement. As a huge fan of both Corey's, it was heartwarming to read this. Feldman is a good person and was always a great friend to Haim. In the end, no one could save Haim. But Feldman sure tried and succeeded several times.

That doesn't make much of a difference. Joe Rogan bashed the hell out of Buddy Hackett after he died, really insulting him and being disrespectful to his memory, and he's doing just fine in his life.

Here's why I also won't join in on the Feldman bashing.
Gremlins, The 'Burbs, The Lost Boys, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Stand By Me and The Goonies.
He's been in so many films I grew up watching as a child. That I loved and enjoyed. I appreciate that and thank him for it. -

I'm still a Feldman fan but alot of what he says concerning his relationships with oth1908er famous people is either exaggerated or plain untrue. Also, the person who molested Haim was a friend of Feldmans that he was introduced to that Feldman still associated with afterward. Then theres the whole "Michael Jackson abandoned me in New York during 9/11" garbage, the two had argued during the reunion concert Michael gave about certain private situations concerning their friendship that Michael didnt want to be public knowledge.

You can't blame Feldman because someone he knew did that to Haim. You also can't blame him for "associating" himself with the guy after; he was a kid, he was having his own problems (read: molestation and drug use), and this guy was a media mogul with a lot of power. That's unfair.

Haim even stated that Feldman KNEW the guy wasnt on the level and still introduced them to each other. Kinda like serving the mouse to a hungry cat on a silver platter really. Feldman is quite the shady one himself.

Wow, that's a year old post you replied to. I've read Feldman's autobiography since I wrote the OP, and Feldman admits to feeling very guilty, both for introducing him, and for getting Haim into hard drugs. He owns up to his mistakes.

So you tell me its not an insult by insulting me.
Not cool fella. They got people who go to weekly meetings for that problem you have.

I think that there are people who go too far when it comes to criticizing him, but I can understand some of it:
In an interview, Wil Wheaton described Corey as a "pain in the ass" to work with. Corey also happened to get on everyone's nerves on The Surreal Life. There's also the fact that despite the negative press, he always seems to want people to take him seriously as a musician/singer when it's clear that most people who have heard him sing don't think that he's good at it.
I'm sure I could go on, but I don't want to completely bash Corey. I actually happen to like him. I mean, he's done stupid stuff, but I'll agree that a lot of the bashing he receives seems unfair. -

Corey Haim always struck me as the careless pretty boy who was out of control and childish, while Feldman was the "parent" of the two, and was always looking out for his friend and taking care of him.
Maybe he
was
on the childish and careless side, but people deal with trauma, which is in this case sexual abuse, differently than others. I guess that his response was to descend into endless self-destruction. Whereas with the other Corey, he got into drugs and all that, but he eventually changed his ways. Haim never managed to do that, I guess. At least not for good.
