- You don’t understand. The wall imperils an already endangered animal and contributes to habitat loss. This really is a simple concept.
- You realize highways and cities allow animals to pass through? A wall doesn’t. They’re completely different physical structures.
- The wall is going to make flash flooding and soil erosion worse, again, this isn’t rocket science. It’s just basic geology.
- You’re aware the cartels are a black market created by the USA’s war on drugs, right you silly honky?
- It’s a giant 30 foot steel wall spanning lengthways across the entire continent. It’s quite clearly a massive disruption. It’s literally impossible to “adapt” to a ****ing wall.
- It destroys their habitats and disrupts their migration routes. Then the mammals can’t climb over it either. This isn’t a hard concept to grasp.
- The wall doesn’t address human trafficking or illegal entry. It’s just creating alternate pathways for those things to happen and created a bigger trafficking industry. Basic facts aren’t conspiracy theories, it’s just the way things are. A giant wall is a worthless disruption that needs to be dismantled, and has no positive outcome. You should try
doing actual research instead of just mouthing off like a petulant child.
The border wall is the worst environmental catastrophe in North American history and you cannot deny this, no matter how hard you try to hide from basic reality. Apparently you think pollution isn’t real and is a doomsday conspiracy

Yes, we all know jaguars are endangered. But they’re endangered because of deforestation, poaching and habitat loss in Mexico, not because of a fence in Arizona. A US population of two or three cats isn’t collapsing ecosystems. You’re acting like the wall is singlehandedly killing off a species when in reality it’s a rounding error in the bigger picture. - Highways and cities allow animals to pass through.
Statistically, highways kill a million plus animals a day in North America. Cities? Wildlife gets shot, trapped or roadkilled trying to pass through, which bring us back to my original point about cities, highways, railroads, dams, etc. and animals adapting. - The wall worsens flash floods and erosion.

Again, wildlife has adapted to highways, subdivisions, pipelines, railroads, fences, dams, farms, cities, etc. But THIS is the thing nature suddenly can’t handle? Sounds like you’ve downgraded Mother Nature from “powerful and resilient” to “can’t figure out a fence.” - The wall doesn’t address trafficking or illegal entry.
So why do cartels keep fighting for control of the gaps? Why do coyotes charge thousands to smuggle people through? Clearly it’s harder, or they wouldn’t be profiting off bypassing it. If the wall was so “worthless,” it wouldn’t be a million-dollar industry to get around it.
Calling the wall the “worst environmental catastrophe in North American history” is so over-the-top it’s parody. And of course it comes from the same crowd that swore “ending net neutrality will kill the internet” and in 2016 told us, “if we don’t hand the planet over to big green corporations right now, entire cities will be underwater by 2026.” The doomsday clock keeps ticking, the predictions keep flopping, and yet they say it all with a straight face.
So tell me again, is a fence worse than the Dust Bowl? Worse than strip mining Appalachia? Worse than the near-extinction of bison, wolves and eagles? A fence is your apocalypse? You sound less like an environmentalist and more like a doomsday cult preacher auditioning for Discovery Channel.

- It didn’t say the wall is causing their endangerment. It said the wall is responsible for their extinction. Please learn word comprehension.
- As will be repeated: highways and cities allow animals transit through them, a wall doesn’t.

- Drugs make billions because the US peddled a phoney drug war that created an entire black market run by cartels, this isn’t exactly rocket science.
- It extends along roughly half the border and the rest is made up of natural barriers like mountains and arid deserts, so yes, it basically is coast to coast, you utter fool. Lol

I think he's missing the key point that our actions in the last few decades come
after
the new knowledge about the environment became available. Highways built ten decades ago are a different thing from a wall being built today, with all we know about species extinction, water run-off, and human diversity. -

Yes, the interstate highway program and automobile boom of the 1950s was started before we were aware of the negative impact. But at least highways and roads allow humans and animals to cross them. A gigantic wall blocking the only migratory path for wildlife between the US and Mexico is another story.

I thought it was an uninhabitable wasteland too. But turns out it’s home to some of the most diverse and unique regions in North America. The Sky Islands region in Arizona is a hub of biodiversity and home to incredibly important wildlife migration corridors of cute, furry animals and pretty flowers.
