Was it ok for William Shatner to write the book "Leonard" after Nimoys death?

They weren't on speaking terms the last couple years of Nimoys life because Shatner used clips of Nimoy in his stage show without paying him; just like Roddenberry did in the 70's. So it was a sore point for Nimoy because he had lawsuits toward paramount and Roddenberry back then that had to be settled before he would go back to work in the films.
And to have a so-called good friend do the same thing would have been heartbreaking.
Shatner didn't even go to the funeral; yet he profited off his death by the sale of the book.
