This is a very simple question that is at the heart of all the discussions on this board. Is Frank Capra one of the greatest directors of all time? Too this question I would give a resounding YES! I would even venture to put him in the top 5! So do you think he's one of the greatest and how high would you rank him?

I don't know if I'd say he's THE best, and I don't know if he belongs in the top 5 or not, but yes, I think he was an amazing director, too often belittled by self-important film-snobs who'd rather leave a movie depressed than uplifted. Whereas some people see his movies as simple, naive, and "corny", I see them as well-made, well-acted, and giving stage to themes that we could all stand to see more of.
