I remember reading somewhere that he felt the track was incomplete and that's why he left it off the album. I don't know where he could have improved it. It sounds perfect the way it is.

Shame on you all for not mentioning 'The Lonesome Death of Hattie Carroll' (or "Only a Pawn in Their Game") from The Times They Are a-Changin' album

Even the title is pure gold! Lets not even mention the live version during the Rolling Thunder Revue: WOW!!!
Or 'Dirge' from Planet Waves. A revelation, a heart-breaking song.
