I think its nobody's business but if people are curious, this is the forum to discuss it. I don't care about Ms Wiest's

because Wikipedia is always accurate
Actually, it often is accurate. Poke fun if you'd like, and there was a time when Wikipedia was a slew of contradictions, errors, and well, even flat out opinions. Lately, Wiki articles are cited in Graduate term papers, as valid points of references, and Harvard Professors are using Wiki articles as references. It is a User based venue of articles but the thresh hold for compliance of forum rules is very high, and the community of support and seasoned contributors, is impressive.

I was being facetious. I think Wikipedia is great. I know it is inherently flawed, but I think that it has potential to be a great website. I have actually contributed a lot to it myself.
It's time to believe. -

Sweiland75, I'm glad you're a contributor to Wikipedia. It is good to know. I know you and I don't always agree but I have tremendous respect for your IMDB contributions.
Cheers!

Oh, and back to Dianne and her sexuality. Why is it when a man or woman, whether they are an entertainer or the next door neighbor, choses not to marry, their sexuality is almost always, automatically in question? I personally find that odd. Some people are happier being single.

People are way to PC, no beep it doesn't matter, aren't we over having to say so by now ?

Of course it doesn't
matter
but I guess people will always be curious about the personal lives of actors, and that's harmless if they don't take it too far. The thing is, if you've never heard of someone being connected with a person of either (or any) sex/gender, then sexuality isn't soooo much called into question as is desire for, or success with, serious relationships. And there's nothing at all wrong with staying single. ^~ -

Most of you are damn homophobic hypocrites who just don't like the idea of homosexuality. Some posters on this board get it2000, others are too wrapped up in your B.S. of "it doesn't affect her acting". Of course it doesn't affect her acting. Why should it affect her acting? Nobody is speaking about her acting. Her acting is another topic.
You're just to dishonest to come out and admit that homosexuality bothers you(assuming you're even aware of it) And since you are too cowardly, it's best to say nothing than make excuses as to why we should not discuss it based on what you want. Anytime you say "it doesn't affect her acting, so who cares?", you are showing that her sexuality bothers youunless we are speaking about her heterosexual status.
If her private life is off limits, then don't discuss anything about her private life, then. It's the same on every board with every actor. I have more respect for those who actually admit their prejudice because at least they are honest about it. -

^ That was true. If people are okay with talking about stars' heterosexual relationships but immediately come out with, "Who cares whether s/he is gay?! S/he is a great actor! It doesn't matter and is none of our business!"then that does seem to indicate that they simply don't wish to know for certain whether the person in question is gay, because it would change their perception of him/her. And it's that awful mindset that makes it so hard for so many gay people to just express themselves normally, as heterosexuals feel free to do.
However, as I'd said, there being no relationship on record for her is really no reason to wonder about her orientation; it suggests more of a lack of interest in a long-term thing, and/or lack of finding the right person, and/or being very private and not divulging such information to anybody who'd post it online.

i have a question of my own:why do people get so defensive if someone wonders aloud about a celebrity's sexuality? why automatically assume that person is gearing up for some kind of negative judgement? there's something called "prurient curiosity" and it's one of the most natural things in the world. i could see getting indignant if someone were planning to wiretap wiest or hire a private detective to follow her and get the goods on her personal life, but this is just asking if anyone has read/heard anything about her status. if no one has,all they have to say is "gee,i don't know" or just not reply. this is a silly reason to get defensive on someone else's behalf.
