Actually, I read in an interview once that he was bullied incessantly as a child, and based "Biff" on his former tormentors. In fact, he's supposedly a very nice guy who does charity work and spends time on youth programs.
Also, I saw him several years ago on The Tonight Show, doing his standup act. This is back when Johnny was still alvive and hosting, so you know it was a while back. He came out carrying a tuba, and talked about being a band geek as a kid. He was hilarious.

Yeah i read that he drew upon his memories of the bullies that bullied him to create Biff. So i suppose in a way he has them to thank for making him such a great actor and so well loved

I heard him on Bob & Tom a while back. The man is hilarious. I wish he would do some more mainstream stuff.

On the Back to the Future collectors edition DVDs, there are a few interview clips featuring him, and from what I saw, he is COMPLETELY unlike Biff. He seems a lot more sensitive and soft spoken, just an all around nice, considerate guy.

In fact, I surfed over to these forums to find out why the heck Tom Wilson hasn't gotten better parts since BTTF. I thought he was a great villain. I can still remember how the air got sucked out of the theater when Biff pulled Marty out of the car on the night of the dance; that was a classic theater moment for me. Movies depend on great, despicable villains, and Biff was up there with the best IMHO.

A funny guy, but that doesn't translate into someone you should mess with. At 6'3 with pretty thick build (his hulking figure from BTTF is of course, diminished due to natural age), he could very well be as different in his personal life as Vince Vaughn is (with that bar fight and stuff).

Does anyone know if he played totally good-natured, nice, or heroic guys on the screen? I remember seeing him in an episode of NASH BRIDGES where he helps Don Johnson and Cheech Marin battle a gang of martial arts smugglers. Tom kicked some heavy bad guy ass, too!
