This idiot looks like ernest and I cant get past that. Everytime I look at his picture I just get annoyed, especially spiderman 3, he in no way was intimidating.

Even though your top post is 3.5 years old, the fact that you've seen George of the Jungle 1 & 2 alone speaks volumes about who you are as a movie watcher.
Everyone else above has given a fairly descent response in defense of THC's other performances.

Well, I don't think you're the "onyl" one, OP.
          But have you seen SIDEWAYS?

^ Interesting Q&A here with him too, on his new film, DON MCKAY. Not a bad guy, IMO.

He was on the Bonnie Hunt Show and had a great tan and really long hair and looked AMAZING. Very handsome and he looked a lot younger than his 50 years. I also noticed that his bio doesn't mention any marriages. I wonder what's up with that, hmmmm?

His bio doesn't mention any marriages, because no girl can stand to be with him. He's very annoying and probably hard to get along with.

I've watched him since Wings as a kid. He was hilarious. Never watched George of the Jungle or Sideways. He was awesome in Broken Trail starring alongside Robert Duvall and did great in Spiderman 3 imo. It's just a matter of taste and opinion.

I love THC as an actor & i think you should watch more of his movies. THC has had oscar & emmy nominations & has also won a few awards for efforts. Check them out here on IMDb.
BTW you were meant to not like Lyle van de Groot.

Watch Ned and Stacey. A funnier and wittier character you will not find. He is simply brilliant.

wow. you shouldnt judge him from that one role. especially considering it was george of the jungle. but ya i dont care for him much either. but you should see him in spider-man 3 and even more so tombstone. tombstone is probably his best movie. spider-man 3 isnt a wonderful movie but he is good in it

I have always felt that I couldn't make such a judgement without first working with an actor. if you don't work with actors then you need to assess his skill with responsibility and see as much of his work as possible. You need to at least compare two or three characters; think what you'd feel about Streep or Hoffman if you only saw kramer v Kramer. You don't see the full picture until Silkwood, Sophies Choice, Papillon and Meet the Fockers.
Mr. Church is one of today's best character actors.

I think he is very talented for comedy. He's hilarious in "All About Steve". And I find him believable in all the movies I have seen him in.

I completely agree with the OP, I just don't like him, no, I hate him.
Update (months later): My mother doesn't like him either.
Only actor I'd rather see in a roll where he gets killed violently and quickly is Robert Kneeper.
