Here's a novel idea.. Many of us Americans don't give a "flying- rats-*ss" about what others in foreign countries think about our TV programs or what they conclude about our intelligence or lack therof based on those shows!!!!! Tyra Banks is successful, accomplished and loved by many. I'm sure this lessens the impact of what someone in Tea Kettle England,Tortillia Spain, Bamboo Korea, or Marinara-Sauce Italy thinks of her OR her/our intelligence level!!!!!

Whoa, I think I may have misled you. I'm far from being a foreigner. I am basically an American, having lived there for most of my life, and I often do refer to myself as being an American, regardless of my family's background in Europe. I'm not one of tb68hose stereotypical foreigners with an overly anti-american mindset. I have no problem with calling myself an American, and feel no shame in doing so. I understand that you and the rest of the fans of Tyra Banks may not care about what I think about her or her show. I'm just getting my opinion out there on a forum dedicated to discussion about her. That being said, it's also possible to say that Hitler was successful, accomplished, and loved by many. What's your point? Does that mean someone isn't allowed to dislike Hitler, or call his admirers/followers Nazi bastards. I'm not forcing you or anyone else to share the same opinion as me, and I recognize that this is just my opinion. But, come on admit it, she's a beotch.

She embodies exactly what is wrong with American television today.
I am a little la5b4te but I think this is what "misled" them. Why say anything about America? I am European but was raised in America. I get bored with the television there and just don't watch. But I have never said it until now and I certainly wouldn't say it to any Europeans while I am there. It would be rude; I am Italian so that should make it OK but yet I still wouldn't mention it. -

BTW, I'm a foreigner and I do like Miss Banks.
But, I do respect the OP's opinion.
And, IMO, he/she's spot on about Maury Povich and Doctor Phil.

That just lost you some serious crediblity right there. How are you going to judge a show you've barely seen?
I watch her show quite a bit, and I say so what if she tries to give advice to the guests or tries to tell them that they might want to reconsider some of the things they do or choices they make. First off, she is far from the first talk show host to do that, and second of all, most of what she says to her guests are things that they needed to hear LONG before they went on her show. Some of her guests have done some pretty off-the-wall things, some of which even made me go "what the hell?!" And I'm a very "anything goes" type of person. Mind you, I don't always agree when Tyra admonishes a guest, but many times she is spot on. The same goes for when she praises her guests, but of course people want to forget about that and just concentrate on the negative things she's said.
I know I'm not alone in my opinion of her, and I'm not surprised to hear the stories floating around here of people meeting her in reality and her being a complete bitch. Sounds just like the person Tyra would be.
There are stories like that attached to EVERY celebrity. There are also personal accounts of people who have met her and thought she was an angel. But what makes for better press, especially in this time where we have an insatiable craving to see public figures at less than their best (even though most of us would never admit it)?

i agree, as pretty as she may be she's a complete idiot and a waste of sperm and egg. i hate how she puts people on the spot when 1354a guest saids that they don't like gays or believe in same sex marriage. i also hate when she talks about her nasty gyno visits and did an episode where she let a man touch her boobs as an exam. like wtf was the point of that >__> she was making it out like she cared about woman who get breast cancer but overall she just wanted to prove that her boobs werent fake. i was repulsed..

Well I certainly don't wish her any harm, but I agree that she is incredibly annoying at times. Tyra is loud, obnoxious and narcissistic. She has a bad habit of cutting guests off on her show and switching the topic around so she can talk about herself. I don't know why she always insists on talking about herself when she's interviewing guests on her show. NOBODY CARES TYRA THAT YOU WENT TO WHATEVER PLACE YOU WENT TO OR HAD WHATEVER EXPERIENCE, it's not always about you dear. Tyra is just overall an annoying personality, I can only take her in small doses. Otherwise, If I watch her on tv for too long I begin to get a headache lol.

What padlocked room have YOU been in all your life?? A good number of pointless wastes of space in this and any lifetime are in the spotlight everyday!

Ok Im not a big hater or anything, but if this statement were true then we wouldn't have shows on TV like "I Love New York" and "Paris Hilton's BFF" It's unfortunate, but it seems that nowadays idiocracy (sp?)is the one big criteria for getting your own show, and staying in the spotlight. Everyone wants to watch people acting a fool, and living crazy, immoral lives. It's an unfortunate part of entertainment in this age, but that's just the way it is.
Tyra, I feel is beyond stuck on herself, and I dislike all of her shows. ANTM is just a "Tyra-fest" made to look like it's about other's but it's not. I mean look at the house that the models live init's wall to wall Tyra pictures! And Tyra's show, while entertaining SOMEtimes, is still just a show for Tyra to play "Oprah". Don't even get me started on Oprah. LOL Anyhoo, I dont know Tyra personally so I'm not saying she's a bad person or anything, I just think she thinks that the world cares more about her than they really do.
That's my two cents. =o)

I'm not sure how you can say I was repeating myself for 8 sentences. I stated fairly clearly the reasons I despise her and believe she's an idiot. I'll admit Tyra may be smart in the business sense, but she speaks about all sorts of topics she clearly has no real expertise on. So, in comparison to her bloated ego and the superiorly intelligent person she makes herself out to be, she is a complete idiot. Much like Dr Phil, her advise and ideas about certain issues could be thought up by the average dumbass. You want me to back up my claims? Well, I don't how any of this can be truely proven as after all, as i stated myself before, it is only my opinion. It's an opinion, not a scientific theory.

bobby-bouche name the talk-show host who IS an expert on ANYTHING????? Hopefully someone who is really trying to get help or answers to a problem or an issue will seek PROFFESSIONAL ASSISTANCE and not a TALK SHOW in the first place. Now if we are talking about modelling then she is most certainly an expert on that subject. If not,go seek EXPERT analysis/opinion/therapy. The REAL complete idiot's are anyone who attempts to recieve "life-changing/saving" advice from an ENTERTAINMENT show. If I had your anger I'd direct it to those individuals, not Tyra.

Tyra is an idiot. She should have just stuck to "ANTM" (a show I do watch, but not because of her) because her talk show is just totally ridiculous. It's not a quality show at all. She is so annoying and self-centered, and too many times has she appeared ignorant, yet she likes to act as if she knows everything. I cannot stand her.
