i dont know why but he is the only cast member on SNL thats not funny. he does the same exact voice for every character. when a skit has him in it, it just totally dies when he starts his lines. i think he should get replaced. what does everyone else think?

I'm sick of this "don't hate" stuff.
what do you mean "don't hate". noone "hates" him, they just don't think he's funny and would rather see someone else get a shot, since Kenan had his and isn't all that hilarious on SNL.
see, if you think wanting kenan to be replaced on SNL is "hating" on him, then isn't keeping him ON the show when he simply isn't the funniest guy for the job HATING on hundreds of talented people who aren't getting a shot? That just goes to show how dumb this "don't hate" nonsense is. Stop making excuses because you "like" someone who isn't funny!! Thats why we're still stuck with horatio sanz. -

totally funny! and he'll do anything for a laff which makes him a lethal good comic. i love the hoochie momma he plays on snl and grew up with him on k+k. what happened to kel, i wonder? kenan was always a star. glad he's doing movies now.

Do anything for a laugh? Exactly. He's a buffoon. All of the characters that he plays are either gay or just really stereotypical. His impressions of Jesse Jackson, OJ Simpson, etc. It seems like none of his characters are thought out (which is also symptomatic of how far SNL has fallen).
He really doesn't need to be a player on SNL. He should stick to being cast in supporting and secondary character roles like in "Snakes on a Plane." -

OK, the actors on saturday night live in my opinion are not given great stuff to act upon in the first place. It has gotten so bad, and I don't believe it's the actors fault. Keenan was hilarious on nickelodeon. Thats because the writers were good. If you give a comedic actor something unfunny to act out, they would have to be a comedic genious to make it good. I think it's not his fault, it's the writers. Saturday night live has been on a steady un-funny decline since the mike meyers years ended, anyone remotely agree?

actually i remember hearing that if you are cast onto snl the only way to stay on is by coming up with your own skits/characters. now yea of course they have writers to help you build on an idea.. but when the idea and the character sucks and its from a unfunny actor what can u build on? i do believe keenan is gettin taken from behind by lorne michaels.. that's the only explanation..

He was also the straight man/jerk in K&K, think Rogan on Pineapple Express..Their counterpart's wacky antics make them stick out awkwardly and it's on that basis the straight man can too be a gut buster, otherwise they're probably just going to look like inconsiderate jerks. Kenan really isn't a comedian to me, him and Kel had good chemistry and I think that's what worked with him in the first place. Comedy is timing and subtlety, in my opinion it takes good actors to convey such under the surface stuff and I think Kenan is thinking too much about "How can I try to be funny?" and not enough.."How can make this character work?"
