Take some ibuprofen and see if that helps. Maybe something inside is still healing and it's causing swelling. Sounds like you maybe cut out a chunk of fatty tissue or maybe hit near a bone

Not always ,it could still be localized. Is there any redness in the area of your finger or palm?

Interesting! I can't see any redness (maybe very lightly on the scar itself) but I didn't even know infection could be localized

They usually start localized, but spread from there. What people think of systemic infections may just be multiple infection sites contemporaneously.

Could be a bruised bone causing swelling and pressing on the tendon sheath .
