My sources get their info straight from teh horses mouth (or at least the offical announcement version of said horse) and it's confirmed. She's got the unenviable task of coming after Amy Pond (Karen Gillan)

Yes it's been confirmed. I've never seen this actress in anything but I'm sure she'll be great. It's always difficult following a popular companion but I just hope the storylines are good enough for her to gain her own identity.

I'm not worried, just pretty excited. I have never seen Jenna-Louise in anything before, but it was time for a change. Karen was good, but I for one am all set for the big change. xD

I dont think she'll have a problem following in Karens footsteps.although ive liked having a couple in the TARDIS rather than a love-sick teenager, im starting to grow alittle bored of the Ponds now if im honest. Although no one else on here seems to, I for one will be glad for the change and was extremely pleased when i heard Jenna Louise had been cast. Shes beautiful and talented so should make interesting viewing.

karen gillian was pretty good but was nothing hugely special, following after shouldnt be a huge problem except for the amount of whingers yet again because of a new companion. ive liked the ponds but yes theyve grown old. Im actually a bit disappointed that it is yet another female companionsigh, please no more romantic connections between the doc and a companion.

I doubt there will be any romantic tension with any companions for a while especially now that the Doctor is married. The reason they keep having female companions is because the fans like eye candy. If they just gave the Doctor a male companion it would make the doctor seem gay if he was living with a man in the TARDIS and going on adventures and stuff. It also adds more opportunities for scripting when there is more variety and incompatibility between the companion and the doctor.

Im just gonna address a few things on the last couple of posts
Theres no reason to worry pal, Moffet already stated that he doesnt want anymore love sick companions in the TARDIS so dont go expecting any Rose/Martha things going on.
As regards her looking 12.she may look young but shes definitely not a minor, theres bigger things to worry about than that. Also as regards her being female, the companion will always be female i would have thought, just so the female audience members have someone to connect to,makes sense really. -

My crackbrained theory is that she, as a Dalek, is the new companion and that this is all moving toward some kind of peace agre1354ement between Dalek-kind and the Doctor.
But for the love of Bo, don't quote me on that. It's just a crazy hope. The next episode will most likely prove me completely wrong. I can dream, though, can't I? A Dalek companion would be awesome!
Allons-y, Alonzo!
