Im just gonna address a few things on the last couple of posts
Theres no reason to worry pal, Moffet already stated that he doesnt want anymore love sick companions in the TARDIS so dont go expecting any Rose/Martha things going on.
As regards her looking 12.she may look young but shes definitely not a minor, theres bigger things to worry about than that. Also as regards her being female, the companion will always be female i would have thought, just so the female audience members have someone to connect to,makes sense really. -

My crackbrained theory is that she, as a Dalek, is the new companion and that this is all moving toward some kind of peace agre1354ement between Dalek-kind and the Doctor.
But for the love of Bo, don't quote me on that. It's just a crazy hope. The next episode will most likely prove me completely wrong. I can dream, though, can't I? A Dalek companion would be awesome!

It was just a guest star appearance, the way Nicholas Courtney appeared in Dr Who before being cast as the Brigadier, or Harry Morgan guest-starred on M.A.S.H. before being cast as Col. Potter. It was a tease.
And she looked fantastic.

jay81 — 13 years ago(September 01, 2012 06:21 PM)SPOILER ALERT! DO NOT READ IF YOU STILL NEED TO SEE DOCTOR WHO 2005 SEASON 7 EPISODE 1!
Her role was too big and memorable to just be a random guest star appearance.
When she returns they must establish some kind of relation between her new character (Clara) and the one she played in this episode (Oswin).
Seeing as they have different names and Oswin got blown to bits, I would guess she's either a twin or a clone. Or perhaps Oswin wasn't her real name, seeing as she kept calling the Doctor "Chin" and Rory "Nin2000a" she might not have given them her real name, which would mean Clara could also be the past version of Oswin (chronologically). But I hope not, seeing as then we'd already know the sad demise that's waiting for her character down the road. And then she should have remembered the Doctor (unless she got mindwiped somehow, like Donna). -

going back a few posts, not all companions have been human
My all time favorite companion was Nyssa of Traken (4th & 5th Doctors)
although she (and the human who played her, Sarah Sutton)
were most delightfully female!!
I am intrigued that this new companion in her first appearance is like Nyssa in that she is both hot looking and possessed of an intellect and knowledge that can actually help the Doctor. -

They actually don't have different names: her characters name is Clara Oswin:

The Doctors probably does some Timey Whimey thing to change her fate.. -

Last time I checked, the name Clara has not actually been confirmed by the produces, writers, actors, or any BBC affiliate.
Until we see Coleman on screen again, I'm referring to her as Oswin or just the new companion.
Don't forget that any user can change imdb pages, I don't trust it until we get confirmation from a reliable source. -

Yes, But directly from the BBC site:
"Asylum of the Daleks was packed with surprises but one of the biggest was the appearance of Jenna-Louise Coleman who made her Doctor Who5b4 debut in tonights episode.
Jenna-Louise will be returning as the Doctors companion but she made her first appearance in the show tonight, and said: Boo! Hello! Hope we gave you a good surprise! Thanks to all the fans who kept it quiet and made it so! More to come watch this space!
Steven Moffat, Head Writer and Executive Producer, thanked fans and the press for keeping the secret:
I hope you all got a nice surprise when Jenna popped up in Doctor Who several months early. If so, that surprise came to you courtesy of the frankly magnificent ladies and gentlemen of the press, and of the many Doctor Who forums and blogs too. This show has been seen at four separate screenings, across four different countries and yet not one person gave one spoiler. From all of us on Doctor Who, a heartfelt thank you for helping us tell our story. -

Yes, she has been confirmed as the new companion. Though we don't yet know what the new companion's relation to Oswin is.
I'm just saying that no one has confirmed that her name is "Clara." She
could
be named Clara, but I think we'll have to wait and see. The supposed confirmation of the name came from a fan who overheard people on set saying Clara. Hardly a reliable source, even though it may be true. -
