You may not be the only one running with a REPORT button, 'Henrey'. IMDb has had complaints about rogue admins before, perhaps you're one of them, as you seem to be awfully confident in your powers to have accounts flagged and deleted via your 'policing' (a telling choice of word, that).
You may have 'seized' to be a teenager chronologically speaking, but that adenoidal-sounding post makes it appear that in your heart and your forebrain you will be one now and always.

Amy, this teen's account should be disabled again and I might even write a lettera letter, not an e-mail to the IMDb HQ at Seattle enclosing some of his posts and explaining them what is taking place here. He is more than a troll or a baiter, he is psychologically deranged, insane, and that's potentially dangerous.
A teen or an "adult" with the mind of a teen, what's the difference? (with all my respect to normal teenagers, against whom I have nothing, on the contrary).
I have seen this before: he baits me and tries to provoke me into overreacting, and then he would play the victim's role and cry "anti-Semitism! anti-Semitism!!"
He is a coward, he has showed this several times, including this one, not even sending his utterly insulting post to me.
And he bluffs.
PS. IMDb belongs to Amazon, and I created my account via Amazon, so they know very well my name, my address and what kind of person, poster and customer I am (almost twelve years spending LOTS of money in Amazon without the slightest problem with my credit card or anything else). -

Aloysius, I would like nothing better than to be friends again and discuss MOVIES on a rational basis.
But, even before last year's election, there were any number of OT political threads, and I'm afraid that the temptation to reply is just too damned strong to resist.
If there was only some way that IMDb can block them from even being posted.
But if that happened, there would be cries of "censorship" and "freedom of speech".
And as for Redgrave, well, I'm sorry, but she just pushes my buttons!
In the future, I'll say nothing about her, OK?

I don't think there's anything derWreck could say on any given subject that would interest me. Remember I ignored him for a couple of weeks but he just kept calling me out? My negotiation position remains the same: if he keeps baiting and baiting and baiting, I will probably give him another mental ass kicking (is he a masochist?) If he stops calling me out, I will definitely ignore him. As simple as that.

I rarely post on OT "political threads" and call-out threads. This is the Classic Film Board and I have been a film buff since I was a kid, a long time ago, and I am especially interested in classic films, that's why I come here. To learn, to teach whatever I can and to have a good time with my fellow posters, some of whom I really like.
I am not a 'Redgravist', I just like her as an actress and respect her (besides, she was born in Greenwich, 0º00'00", the Prime Meridian, and for me that's meaningful for several reasons, including professional ones), but I like other actresses as well. It's just that you and that crazy teen went too far and I reacted. And your reactions to my reaction went too far as well. But look, I am not a self-righteous Savonarola and I don't want to become one, so

I really hope that you are wrong and "Henery" is not a Jew, because my opinion of Jews is pretty good (thanks mainly to some people I mettwo of them among my best friendsplus Hannah Arendt, Aaron Copland, Gustav Mahler, Woody Allen, Bernard Herrmann, Billy Wilder, Jerome Moross, and a very, very, very long list), and he is one of the most miserable and pathetic persons I have ever seen on a message board, and I have seen a few. But it's his lack of
empathy
, something so precious, and so important for me, that I find particularly despicable.

Y'know what's funny?
Kirk Douglas was never one of my favorite actors.
IMO, he tended to grit his teeth too much and chew up the scenery.
But he is a good person, and I'm happy for his 100th birthday.
That's the polar opposite of how I feel about Redgrave.
She may be a fine actress (taste is subjective), but I don't find her a good person at all.
And as I said earlier, she just pushes my buttons, with the result that I speak my opinion sometimes without tact.
But I suppose that's part of being human.

No, not really, I take for granted that you don't like or dislike actors and other people simply because they are Jews or Gentiles. Neither do I.
I am not a Kirk Douglas "fan" (in fact I am not anyone's "fan", I just have favourites, that's all).
As an actor, I like him very much. He has
pathos
, but he is not sympathetic. Many of his characters are unhappy, frustrated or antipathetic.
This film is particularly intereresting:
The Juggler (1953)
A German Jew, a traumatised survivor of the Holocaust, who emigrates to Israel. Filmed on location in Israel, that heroic Israel of 1953. If you haven't seen it, try to get it.
Another problem: he isor wasembittered because he felt he didn' t get what he deserved because he was a Jew. He was nominated for three Oscars but was awarded none (he was awarded other prizes though, and an honorary Oscar as late as 1996). One of them was
Lust for Life
, and in my opinion he deserved the Oscar for his brilliant, superb and intense (his pathos again) role as Vincent Van Gogh.
I speak my opinion sometimes without tact.
Well, so do I, but I try to have more tact, mostly out of respect and courtesy. But basically I am an ouspoken and straightforward person. In my real life as well, and that cost me jobs, money, friends and even relatives. -

That's pretty hard to believe.
LUST FOR LIFE was one of the few Douglas movies I really liked.
He really looked like Vincent Van Gogh.
And Anthony Quinn deserved his Oscar for his portrayal of Paul Gaugin.
Let's not forget that Kirk did receive an honorary Oscar (I forget the year).
I remember seeing that event, with his sons giving him a standing ovation, tears streaming from Michael's eyes.
If nothing else, Kirk was a wonderful husband to Anne and an excellent father to his four boys, even if Eric died of a drug overdose.
But by then, Eric was an adult and responsible for his own actions. -

I didn't refer specifically to the Oscars. And "denied" is not the correct way of putting it, it was more subtle.
I think I read it in his first (autobiographical) book, 'The Ragman's Son' (1988) or maybe somewhere else. There could be some mention of this here:

I am assuming that the events that have led to there being so many off-topic political posts led to this. There is only so much space available to store the messages.
Maybe with Amazon being the owners of IMDb, they could give message board use to Prime Members.
