OT: Going forward with the polls

OldAussie: We did 1962 back in the Lechuguilla era, around July 2011. You did participate in that poll.
1947 is one of the years I can't find. I have a posting where Lech mentions it as one of the years we hadn't done yet, but I don't have the results for that year, which most likely means that OldAle conducted the poll but I didn't save the results. -

Farne's list of the polls we have done since the end of 2014 is correct, except that we did 1990 around November 2014. (I have the results threads but not the original poll threads, so I can tell you when the results came out but not the exact dates that the polls were conducted.)
The most recent combined-year silent era poll we did was for 1915-1919, around May 2015. And we also did a Science Fiction genre poll around April of this year.
I personally would not be interested in conducting an acting category as part of the year-by-year polls. If other people want to conduct such polls separately, that's fine with me, but it's not my personal preference.
As I've stated below, though, all of this is pending OldAle's return to posting and awaits his decision as to what he plans to do. -

Just one thought to suggest - when we renew the cycle expand forwards to include the years which were too recent to qualify last time around..
If they organise the revolution like they did this meeting, what'll happen? -

Thank You Thank You Thank You !
I don't have the time or indeed the database skills to help out but I promise to include lots of obscure Eurotrash in my ballots
and I'm sure someone will assist

Good news, OldAle is alive!
He responded to my PM from earlier today. He's undecided yet whether he wants to continue the polls, but said he'll "probably start posting again, whether or not I want to do the polls, and so I'll think about it this afternoon while out and about, and get back to you in a little while." Good stuff.
I'll be waiting, with a gun and a pack of sandwiches. -

It's nice of you and some others here to want to take over hosting the polls. I'd offer, but I have zero patience for this sort of thing and besides, I'm on too many ignore listsha ha.
I sure hope that Ale comes back. His work with the polls is much appreciated. I've always been grateful to those who take the time to run polls, quizzes, etc. It takes a lot of work and it's all voluntary.
As for the years, maybe try doing years which were covered several years ago. The results might be different this time around, with different people responding and all that.
Good luck!Jim Hutton (1934-79) & Ellery Queen = -

I hope he isn't behaving like a sissy-pansy because of what happened that time a couple of months ago..Jim Hutton (1934-79) & Ellery Queen = Here's the thread, in case you try another one of your "I wasn't talking about him" dodges (note that your post was self-deleted shortly after Clore called you on it): http://www.imdb.com/board/bd0000010/thread/260953156?d=261394273#261394273 Hypocrite and homophobe to boot. 50 Is The New Cutoff Age. -

Maybe it will turn out that her evil twin made that original post calling Ale a sissy-pansy. Or maybe there's a madman in Edmonton who breaks into people's homes and either steals homework or uses the PCs to ruin reputations.

Oh geez.I just didn't want to see Ale chased off the board just because one person took over the poll without his permission. He has a LOT of support here, so why not come back?
