It sounds to me like
Only When I Larf- an enjoyable comedy caper movie from 1968 starring David Hemmings and Richard Attenborough. They play a pair of con-men brothers, and the climax ends in the Lebanese desert with the pretty girl they're both fighting over driving off in a jeep with the loot. The scene you describe when they're laughing together over both being swindled can be seen at the start of the trailer below:

Hello,
I remember this movie, probably from the 80s or earlier (I guess it could be 90s as well).
It's about American POWs in Vietnam (or at least, I think it was Vietnam) and they get tortured in different ways. They are forced to crap on buckets, and they are constantly beaten, and hung upside down.
What I remember the most is, sometimes the captors would parade the POWs through the streets and people would throw rocks at them.
Help is appreciated.
