It's
10/10
for me brah. Don't forget it's also by the legendary Canadian director, the controversial and infamous
Bob Clark
.
He seems a bit of a wild card- a genius on this film,
A Christmas Story
,
but not so much on the
Porky's
franchise. That said I bet you big money there are some closet
Porky's
fans on this board.
EDIT:
I thought the following was also by Bob Clark, but it's a different Canadian production directed by Ivan Reitman:
A Cannibal Movie I can't Remember the Title
starring SCTV alumni Eugene Levy and Andrea Martin.
Can anyone help me with the title- this was made by comedy stars and yet it's straight up horror- a gruesome, nasty little horror movie. Low rent, in a good way. -

Homer Simpson:
Well that's an African elephant isn't it?
Elephant salesman:
Well it is, and it isn't. If you catch my drift.
Bob Clark:
an American-Canadian actor, director, screenwriter and producer best known for directing and writing the script with Jean Shepherd to the 1983 Christmas film A Christmas Story. Although he worked primarily in the United States, from 1973 to 1983 he worked in Canada and was responsible for some of the most successful films in Canadian film history such as Black Christmas (1974), Murder by Decree (1979), Tribute (1980), and Porky's (1982).

it is shown in another film. the fact that it is on tv in that other film is scarier than the original film itself.
i dont actually remember which other film it is shown in, though.

The movie you're looking for is Cannibal Girls (1973). It was the first movie directed by Ivan Reitman, and has the "ringing bell" gimmick to warn viewers of impending violent scenes.
Don't give up the fight for truly independent cinema! -

I need to re-watch this. Only seen it the once. There is not even a blu-ray release of it in the UK, which I really don't understand given it's cult status. Arrow Video.. if you are listening..

It has not been released in the UK on blu-ray yet and yes the US version is region locked. I don't have a region free player (which is probably a good thing actually as I would soon be broke
).. However Arrow Video over here are releasing classic horrors left, right and centre.. so hopefully it will only be time.
I notice you rate
The Wailing
the same as me. Curious to know what your main issue was with it that stopped it from being an 8 or 9?

Oooh The Wailing. I had an 8 in mind as i watched it. I've never rated a South Korean flick so low if the truth may be told. What can I say it left me wanting. I expected SK greatness and it was just OK. Solid for sure but nothing huge.
Take that in though, lowest rated SK flick a 7. They are extremely good filmmakers.

It's been an awesome season! Things went my way in court the other week. But then I got hospitalized for a skin infection. But then I got out, so all is good. Now I'm wrestling with this horrenously itchy rash all over my body from the antibiotics I was given in the hospital (vancomycin - "Red Man Syndrome"). Just got out from an oatmeal bath. I'm a mess! LOL.
You got the wrong guy, mang. I don't come off no banana boat.
