If it's not broken, don't fix it.
Actually, in a way it is broken. But I wouldn't remake the movie, just redo the soundtrack. A new soundtrack could make this movie amazing again.
Okay, I would also just plain delete the sequence of still shots that cover the trip to Bolivia.
The movie is never as good after they first leave home, but a new soundtrack and a few edits could do wonders.

I don't think anyone can really match the chemistry of Newman and Redford, but those would be those two. I wouldn't want a remake, but something in the vein of this would be a perfect vehicle for Clooney and Pitt to showcase their charisma and acting abilities. A film of that nature would do what the Ocean movies never could, present the two as the icons of cinema they truly are.

Yeah, petegatt, I thoroughly agree. All these remakes and reboots seem like just lazily treading water, wasting an opportunity for telling new stories. Especially when the previous versions still work.
You might very well think that. I couldn't possibly comment. -

Redford was no Laurence Olivier ya know.he basically plays the same snarky character in every movie he's in, including this one.
Don't get me wrong this movie is a classic, but Redford was a great-looking movie star, not necessarily a great
actor

Whose idea was it for the word "Lisp" to have an "S" in it?
