Does anyone else think this may have helped inspired Robert Altman's brilliant "The Player"? This is a viciously funny attack on Hollywood and its warped values, and I can't think of a worthier victim.

I read that Michael and Steven Tolkin, authors of the book, based it on experiences that actually happened to them. Of course Hollywood is ripe for satire so I imagine dozens of books and films could be made on the lives of those behind the scenes.

The spirit of these stereotypes is alive and well in Showtimes's "Episodes" which documents how the big networks destroy classic UK series to make the US version.

If I may quote that esteemed philosopher, Homer Simpson, and what his thoughts were about stereotypes:
          "They're funny because they're true!"
Can you dig it? I knew that you could!
