Tommy McCardle the gangster. he had an apartment in the then newly developed Albert Dock. He strung Barry and terry along for years. Also the 'Free George Jackson' campaign when he was wrongly imprisoned. His wife, marie, was totally mental. Someone ahd a song i the charts I'm sure.

Doreen having an affair with the dentist she worked for so he would help her pay the bills (prostitution really) then her husband going mental when he found out and driving across all the neighbours' lawns shouting like a loony. He was called Billy, can't remember their surname.

I started watching it while I was in school,when the dug up Trevor, as everyone was going on about it
Shortly after they had a story where an old man called George (he's been in One Foot in the Grave, George & Mildred) stayed at the close. He had been abroad can came back with some terrible virus that infected and killed loads of the residents. Leo Johnson (I think) saw his mate collapse and die in the swimming pool and Patricia's mum, Jean, nearly died. Her husband confessed to an affair when he thought she would die. She lived and left him. Racist Ron accused Mick Johnson of poisoning everyone from his pizza shop. -
