Emma's name

Remember when they were arguing over Ben's name, Ross wanted his name to be first, so it'd be Geller-willeck-bunch (I have no idea if that's the correct spelling of the names but you get the gist) and Susan said he knew people would drop the other names and just say Geller. I think itd be the other way around though, I'd drop the first name(s) and go with the very last name in the hyphen. For example: Ben Bunch.

Tbh, I thing Geller Green flows better than Green Gellar.
At least Rachel did the decent thing and included Ross' name.
Unlike that b***h of an ex wife of his and her selfish wife, who wanted to shove Ross and his name right out of the picture! -

I don't get your complaint either. Father's name last sounds like he's even less involved. Father's name first is how it goes. Same if you're a woman and you hyphenate, your husband's name goes first.

It was pretty common at the time, but Ross leaned more told old fashioned then unusual, and Emma is an old fashioned name.
Consider the daffodil. And while you're doing that I'll be over here looking through your stuff.

I think Rachel only wanted Emma because it was Monica's "chosen" name for her own child. She was quite happy to steal it. If Monica said any other name, she would've picked that too.
They should've stuck with the name Isabella, it's pretty! -

I know that some people really don't like Rachel, but what evidence is there to suggest that she is that petty and mean spirited towards Monica? I know that she once "stole her thunder", but to purposefully use a name Monica wanted, for the purpose of stealing it, I'm just not getting that. -

Tbh, I do like Rachel. I just found it a bit too convenient that she all of a sudden fell in love with the name. Why that name?
Monica should've made up another name on the spot, one that she detests, lol, then keep "Emma" for herself.
Don't get me wrong, I think Rachel's a good person and she loves her friends and family.
But there would be moments where she showed her spoilt, selfish side and the others would sometimes give in to her, be self-sacrificing.
Going back to the name thing, Monica clearly loved the name "Emma", having chosen it when she was little. But because she's a decent person and loves her bestfriend, she willlingly gave it to her.
I'm not sure Rachel would do the same, if it were the other way around.
I also think if Rachel were a good friend, she wouldn't so happily take a name that clearly meant so much to Monica.
She should've used her imagination to name her own child. -

No you're totally right. What kind of person would take her best friend's baby name? That always made me mad. Monica was not offering the name to her, and out of all the names in the world, Rachel just had to have that one then even though it was MONICA'S and she was clearly saddened by it. There's no excuse for that and I highly doubt she would have done the same for Mon. Like you indicated, why wouldn't you want to use your own brain anyway and come up with your own name for your own child? Plus "Emma" is boring as anything.
