Yeah except the places that have had the most strict measures put in place have had the highest outbreaks and deaths. You can compare places in crappy Europe where they do and don't issue these extreme guidelines and there isn't much difference. The article was talking about social distancing (as enforced by mandatory lockdowns), not masks. Social distancing is 100% the most effective way to flatten a pandemic. We have to wear masks because people won't stay home. We have to be locked down because people won't social distance when they go out to frolic.

What does death rates have to do with masks? If you're studying the effectiveness of masks I'd think case rates would be what we'd want to look at.
