I loved The Raid, I've seen it countless times, and did not even think of it ONCE while watching Dredd. I guess people will grasp at any straws to moan and complain online to get some attention.

BURLEARTH Thank you so much for clearing up that issue for the idiots on here, you should repost on the Dredd 3D page. It's something that happens in Hollywood with alarmingly more frequent regularity: Friends with Benefits/No strings Attached to name a recent unsubtle "let's see who can release first" duo.

Dredd is a great action movie.
The raid however is completly illogical and boring, Cops that let scouts run away so they alarm the entire building. Noone using any guns but instead fight with their fists.
And you have no real clue why they would go into the building in the first place, noone seem to have any plan and noone ask who they should aprehend, completly stupid.
I gave Dredd 8/10, The Raid got 4/10 -

From what I can recall it was a child, they could have shot him but that's seriously unethical and when they tried to catch him he was too quick.
Worth noting as well that shooting him was an entirely pointless waste of a life, given the revelations right at the end of the film. -

I side with Dredd as the better movie. I feel that The Raid is good at getting that adrenalin going, but the story works better for Dredd in terms of internal consistency. The Raid just has too many moments where I was taken out of the movie because of strange character choices and too neatly choreographed martial arts.
