Worst acting ever!!

I think it's a combination of acting, writing and directing that was the problem.
The guy wasn't really likeable.
*He came out of a super expensive mansion. And he was super successful with online dating. Wow, THAT stunning date and her amazing apartment?- He's physically imposing, so the horrors weren't scary because he looked like he could fend it off.
- He wasn't particularly likeable (in part due to the above writing), but his portrayel was very snarky and hipstery, and any backstory with his mother came a little too late to care, so again the horrors weren't really relatable because we felt like wanting to see him punished and by the end it was like 'meh'.

He was very unlikeable for me. For me personally he represents every character facet that is wrong with the millennial generation.
I think it was important that he was an imposing character so that there was some challenge and anticipation in breaking him.
I feel this episode wasn't really going for scary ultimately as much as eternal dread. And I think it wasn't so much the dread of seeing him punished but rather the dread of observing his hosts and how they punished him.

I agree. All of these were very intentionally done, after all there's so much talent on display here so in a way it isn't 'worse acting' because it's what they wanted.
I think unfortunately it didn't come across with dread, nor insightful, nor entertaining/scary just a mish mash of okay. Cool spider visuals though. -

huh? I thought the acting was bad, but what specifically are these facets you're talking about? he was just a loud, happy go lucky guy. what's so 'wrong' about that and what's it got to do with the millenial generation lol

I know right? They could toned it down. Even small touches like swiping a few more faces and looking disappointed there's no match. And dressing the date and apartment to look less dream catalogue. Maybe have a couple of flatmates present. Just something to not make it so darn distracting!

I agree with the OP, that is why this episode is the last in my rank of episodes:

But where was the director? He could have repeated some of the scenes several more times to get a decent result (or maybe he tried and failed?). -

He looked entirely believable every second he was on screen.
I am sorry but that's blatant lie or you must have been snoozing during watching and did not see it all.
About 32 or 33 minutes into the film he sudenly sees Peters. His reaction is totaly fake and that put me off immediatelly. His acting in this particular scene was so very unnatural and unbelivable - all this prolonged uuhhs and oohhs and weird gesticulation. That was just bad acting. Face it. -

Yeah, let's agree that we disagree on this one, but I supported your view on the Nosedive:

I liked him too. Thought he was funny. Especially after the Sonja/giant spider attack happened, when he yelled "Katie!" in an exasperated voice. I was in tears. He was definitely a different lead than was seen in any of the other episodes, more comedic, but I found it enjoyable.
Wildcattin'Wildcattin'. Pow! I'm gonna go. -

I agree with the OP, and no, he does not remind me of anyone, except perhaps a little bit of the protagonist in 'The Thing' who played his role there perfectly and was very likeable.
I also like the character and how he looks. I only do not like how poorly and unbelievably the actor acts, as already explained above:
http://www.imdb.com/board/12085059/board/thread/262582492?d=262753559#262753559
I did not notice any worse actors being protagonists in the show than him.
