I know right? They could toned it down. Even small touches like swiping a few more faces and looking disappointed there's no match. And dressing the date and apartment to look less dream catalogue. Maybe have a couple of flatmates present. Just something to not make it so darn distracting!

I agree with the OP, that is why this episode is the last in my rank of episodes:

But where was the director? He could have repeated some of the scenes several more times to get a decent result (or maybe he tried and failed?). -

He looked entirely believable every second he was on screen.
I am sorry but that's blatant lie or you must have been snoozing during watching and did not see it all.
About 32 or 33 minutes into the film he sudenly sees Peters. His reaction is totaly fake and that put me off immediatelly. His acting in this particular scene was so very unnatural and unbelivable - all this prolonged uuhhs and oohhs and weird gesticulation. That was just bad acting. Face it. -

Yeah, let's agree that we disagree on this one, but I supported your view on the Nosedive:

I liked him too. Thought he was funny. Especially after the Sonja/giant spider attack happened, when he yelled "Katie!" in an exasperated voice. I was in tears. He was definitely a different lead than was seen in any of the other episodes, more comedic, but I found it enjoyable.
Wildcattin'Wildcattin'. Pow! I'm gonna go. -

I agree with the OP, and no, he does not remind me of anyone, except perhaps a little bit of the protagonist in 'The Thing' who played his role there perfectly and was very likeable.
I also like the character and how he looks. I only do not like how poorly and unbelievably the actor acts, as already explained above:

I did not notice any worse actors being protagonists in the show than him. -

He is supposed to be slightly stupid and annoying - a "bro" type. We see more depth to him when he tells the girl about his parents.
But when the sht started getting real with that whole haunted mansion thing, he portrayed genuine fear and vulnerability beautifully.
Personally I would suggest that you re-watch the episode. -

Cannot disagree more.

That's my suggestion to you, too. I already re-watched it partially when I was looking for that scene, which put me off, as being particularly poorly played, so that I could tell you where it is (see my reply to you above:

How can you watch his over the top reaction when he sees Peters, and think this is believable?
