There are a
lot
of 'em–not just good ones but, as the title indicates, iconic ones. Seems like a good idea for a thread.
Gotta start with Lalo Schifrin's MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE theme, which was written to be used during a chase sequence in the M:I series pilot but Bruce Geller loved it so much, it became the show's main theme (and has remained, in various versions, through every iteration of M:I over the decades):

Joe Harnell wrote "Lonely Man" for THE INCREDIBLE HULK. Several different versions were used in the show and–bizarrely–the most common version doesn't seem to be on Youtube anywhere. Most of what one finds are derived from the very padded and different single release (this is the case with several name-brand tv themes). This one is pretty close. My link lops off the extraneous opening:

Henry Mancini's great theme graced Blake Edwards' PETER GUNN for all three seasons of its run in the late '50s/early '60s. The show, which was the first show to feature a detective protagonist created specifically for television, is seldom seen these days, but its theme has been recorded by everyone and used by everyone for just about everything:

Mike Post has written a
lot
of tv themes over the years (many of them will probably turn up here if this thread catches on). One of his most iconic has to be his theme from HILL STREET BLUES:

Definitely! Jan Hammer did a lot of great work on this show. Very time-and-place.

This has been done over and over, but in my humble opinion, this is THE TV THEME!
Talk about Iconic!
You asked a pretty question; I've given you the ugly answer.

Ron Moore titled an episode of his BATTLESTAR GALACTICA after a line in this song ("Taking A Break From All Your Worries").
