Unless he can point to a verse in scripture that says so… I would march right up to the pulpit first thing sunday service and call him out in front of the congregation. Then go find a better church. What about all those of the prior generation who watched The Wizard of Oz?

The Satanic Panic started in the 1980s and hit a fever pitch in the 1990s. By the time 2000 rolled around, it had pretty much fizzled out.
There are still witch hunts out there, however, albeit of a different sort.

I was referring to the Harry Potter thing. There was a little bit of that panic left over. My oldest sister's family went to church that condemned Harry Potter as devilish. There was a lot of that with Wiccans in the late 90's too.
For some people, it never went away. Like this doc talks about a church in a nearby hick town that was involved in a kiddie porn ring where they used the Satan made me do it excuse. Also the town where God Warrior from Trading Spouses lives.

They also had a problem with Pokémon back in the day. A friend of my moms tried to convince her it it was evil and also magic the gathering. No bitch, don't **** with my Pokémon or magic cards.

I heard about that more after the fact. Must've not been as prominent around me.
I do remember violence in kids shows and films like TMNT and Power Rangers being a problem with some parents as well as Beavis and Butthead because one dumbass white trash kid with ****ty parents either lit his house on fire or blew it up.
