Rogue One is easily my favorite non-OT SW film but I haven't settled on a place for it beyond that
For me it goes:
Empire Strikes Back
A New Hope
Rouge One
Force Awakens
Jedi
We won't acknowledge the prequels.

For me (tentatively regarding Rogue One):
A New Hope
Empire/Jedi
Rogue One
The Force Awakens
Revenge of the Sith
Jedi's first and third act a far superior to Empire and Empire doesn't really have an ending. Sure the second act of Jedi may be the weakest of the OT, but I still love it.
And I honestly remember enjoying Revenge of the Sith OKbut I'm sure it was based on the lowered expectations left by the previous two prequels. I still haven't bothered to rewatch it since seeing it in the theater though
According to me, yes. I am the person it's usually according to when I'm talking. -

I like the bit where Vader first turned.
Even though it is the entire point of the prequels and Lucas had alomst entirely pointlessly used about 540 minutes of movie up to the scene, he made it all happen during a quick catch up meeting with Palpatine, during which they kill Samuel L Jackson, burn off the baddies face to make him look evil and then agree to kill some Younglings (which are called that so we don't feel sorry for them) before officially taking over the universe in a court room scene.
As a kid who loved the action, fantasy and story telling of Star Wars, that was
exactly
how I'd imagined Vader's fall from grace.
I think people crying after a well-crafted, well-paced story, where we both fear and empathise with the main character, need to turn down their expectations and start seeing the prequels for the masterpieces that they are.99% Complete: [||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||| ]

Honestly, that was the dumbest moment for me. That he would he turn to the dark side based on spurious concerns for Padme was almost workable, that he'd force choke her cos he's a bit emo and cause it all is retarded.

A better scenario would have been her being shot down on Mustafar and Obi-Wan helps her just long enough to save the kids but she dies from her injuries. He then tells Vader that she and the unborn child was killed in the crash, which Vader blames on Obi-Wan, solidifying the dark side's hold on him.
Er idk something like that.
