I think I liked Albert Salmi best as Warden Rory Poke in Brubaker. It's my
favorite Robert Redford film as well. For a kid from Brooklyn, he really had
a great handle on playing rural rednecks.
Fellow Brooklynite Albert Salmi, RIP. -

I haven't seen a great dea of Salmi's performances, but of what I have seen, his characterization of Paul Caswell in the Twilight Zone episode "Execution" has left the most vivid impression on me. What an actor, and so deserving of more recognition.

The Salmi-Fickett chemistry is top notch in that episode (
Power Play
), making it difficult to believe that the actors portraying these Middle Western types were born and bred New Yorkers! Fickett actually surprised me more, as I wasn't as familiar with her work. Fine episode all-round, and the Salmi-Fickett playing (for my money) stole it, and from some gifted fellow actors. -

I've never heard of Mr. Salmi unfortunately until last week. I was watching the Twilight Zone episode "Of Late I think of Cliffordville". Albert Salmi really stood out to me and I enjoyed his performance immensely.

My favorite Albert Salmi role, was his portrayal as Charlie Rawlins,in the "Unforgiven". His role was different from his usual tough guy character. He was a sweet, lovable h dope in love with Audrey Hepburn.
