A legitimate "NO TALENT"

She graduated from Princeton with honors with a degree in French.
She suffered from horrible abuse at the hands of her mean, alcoholic mother. Still, Brooke has always said good things about her mother, whom she took care of from the age of around 13 until Teri died, about 33 years later. In addition to her ethereal beauty and her intelligence and poise and grace and kindness, she has peace in her soul and she's about as down to earth and modest as it gets. She has also been shown to have a great sense of humor. Brooke Shields is one of life's big winners.

She may not be the best actress in town, but she knew how to gently exploit what was a god given gift to her: stunning looks.
I'd also say she is self-deprecating, has suffered depression, (that was more of a post natal issue I think which Tom Cruise derided her for), but within her own means, she has made things work as best as she could within her means. And above all, she comes across as honest and uninhibited and I bet she knows how to tell a great joke and make it interesting and funny.
Bravo to Brooke and I am so glad that I was young when she was in her prime and graced the silver screen with her warmth and beauty which I believe is inside as well as out.

Doesn't matter
I would say that on a website having to do with the arts, whether someone can do their job or not is relevant.
Brooke Shields is utterly gorgeous, and theatricallyneutral. She's a perfectly nice person who performs no better (or worse) than anyone's average cousin would if they were told they had to support themselves by acting.
She's had 50 years to give a great or even very good performance, and still it eludes her. -

I'd have agreed with the OP until recently. She was always one of those actors who could only play an idealized version of herself.
However, as Rita Glossner, she's magnificent. I barely recognized her. It may be the first time she's actually acted a role, and nailed it 100%.

I've only just realised now that Rita is Brooke Shields! A bit gobsmacked. She's FANTASTIC!
